Because of insane work schedule and self-reflection on my fiction writing, I decided my goal for this ROW was really to have no goals :).
Now that work is calming down some - I decided to put some goals back on the table.
Writing Goal - A post a day for 30 days on The Blood Turbine. Doesn't have to be any specific word count, but I should post every day - something. I hope at end of the 30 days, I'll figure out what works.
Drawing Goal - I want to do a drawing exercise at least 3 times a week - with the goal of trying to work on something every day.
I know this sounds ambitious - except that the reality is my job has moments of downtime. For example, part of my job is to write training material for our new release. And when I'm doing that, I have to wait for servers to start - which can take 20-30 minutes. And during that time, I'm trying to capture thoughts or sketches.
So while these goals are "ambitious" in the sense of daily effort - they are realistic in that I'm not setting a word count or anything beyond "Just write or draw something."
Great that you're slowing down enough in the reality job to be able to put some goals on the table. I always appreciate a clear goal to stive toward.
ReplyDeleteGood work! Hard to get back into things when we've stopped, but you can do it. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI think you'll be glad you set these goals. Well done and good luck. X
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement. It's why I've stuck with ROW80 - even if my writing muse has been in hibernation.
